FASTJET ZIMBABWE is delighted with the latest news released by the Government of Zimbabwe on 08 September 2020 announcing the official resumption of domestic and international air transportation, approved with prescribed travel safety conditions.
Today we initiated robust discussions and are actively engaged with key stakeholders as we finalise plans for the recommencement of domestic flights between Harare & Bulawayo and Harare & Victoria Falls, following yesterday’s announcement by the Ministry of Information, Publicity & Broadcasting.
Whilst we deliberate on the next steps in announcing recommencement dates and a revised domestic network flying programme, we express our sincere gratitude to the respective Ministries, Authorities and Agencies for their continued efforts in preparing the travel industry to a return to operations.
With our “Flexible Booking Change Policy” now extended until 15 March 2021, and as details on the resumption of flights are confirmed we are looking forward to sharing additional incentives for all our customers that will form part of our “Travel with Confidence” initiative, which focuses on customer’s experience, safety, wellbeing and sustainable operations across our network. We look forward to supporting the wellbeing of our customers and the facilitation of local travel in Zimbabwe, in line with the domestic tourism campaign and initiative launched in July 2020.
During the period of restricted international air travel, we will continue to operate repatriation flights between Harare, Zimbabwe and Johannesburg, South Africa in accordance with the regulatory guidelines of the respective Government Agencies. Customers interested in finding out more about our repatriation flights may contact us via email to [email protected], or through one of our online chat channels.
We extend our sincere appreciation and gratitude to all our Customers, Government Agencies, Tourism Bodies, Trade Partners and Suppliers for the support and reassurance extended to us during the lockdown period and with our plans to resume flights and services for everyone.
The planned domestic recommencement date and flying programme will be shared in the course of this week on our website and social media pages.
