Fastjet awarded the leading position of Best Low-Cost Airline in Africa at the 2019 Skytrax World Airline Awards.
Johannesburg: Africa’s airline for everyone, fastjet, takes the lead of Best Low-Cost Airline in Africa at the 2019 prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards.
Fastjet has regularly featured amongst the top airline brands in Africa as a nominee for various industry awards. The most recent 2019 accolades added to the fastjet family’s achievements include Skytrax Best Low-Cost Airline in Africa Award, nominated in this category for three consecutive years, leading the category in 2017 and 2019, placing second in 2018, and the World Travel Awards, as the Leading African Low-Cost Airline for the fourth consecutive year. The awards bestowed on fastjet are based on votes from airline customers an encouraging acknowledgement for fastjet, the Airline for everyone.

To date the fastjet brand covers Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South Africa and ranks in the Top 20 Africa, European and Middle East airlines for punctuality.
The Zimbabwe flight network continues to provide reliable, high frequency services from their hub in Harare, Zimbabwe. This year saw the airline introduced a positive change to its network, introducing double daily flights between Harare and Bulawayo and a seasonal schedule between Victoria Falls and Johannesburg, South Africa.
In April of this year fastjet Mozambique (FN) and Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM), the national carrier of Mozambique announced the signing of a codeshare agreement on Beira, Quelimane and Tete routes operated between both airlines. This arrangement is intended to strengthen the Airlines respective route networks, to facilitate commercial sales and to improve passenger convenience in flight schedules.

Fastjet is a multi-award-winning value African airline that began flight operations in 2012. Their awards include, Leading African Low-Cost Carrier World Travel Awards 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, and Skytrax World Airline Awards Best Low-Cost Airline in Africa 2017 and 2019.
Today, fastjet connects Zimbabwe by flying between Harare and Victoria Falls, and Harare and Bulawayo. They also offer flights from Harare and Victoria Falls to Johannesburg in South Africa.
In November 2017 the airline began branded domestic flights in Mozambique, using Embraer E145, a 50 - seater aircraft operated by Solenta Aviation Mozambique. As part of a codeshare agreement entered with LAM – Mozambique Airlines, fastjet offers its customers flights between Maputo, Tete, Beira and Quelimane.
Since commencing operations, fastjet has flown over 3.5 million passengers and has established itself as a punctual, reliable, and affordable low-cost carrier.
