This year marked the inaugural Zimbabwe Trade and Investment Conference and Expo 2018. Themed Strengthening business relations between Zimbabwe and the rest of the world: Zimbabwe is open for business; it took place from 1-2 March at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).
The Conference and Expo, which welcomed more than 400 local and international delegates, was designed to bring together potential investors and government to develop mutually beneficial partnerships that enhance Zimbabwe’s economic growth. Industries of potential investment and the right networking partners in Zimbabwe were identified through highly interactive sessions aimed at improving the lives of Zimbabweans.
Day one started with the registration and exhibition of the participating companies, while day focused on panel discussions between market players and ministers of leading revenue generating sectors.
The president of Zimbabwe, HE Comrade ED Mnangagwa, was present to give a key note address to the audience on the direction the country is taking, under his leadership. The ministers in attendance to support the way forward included Minister of Tourism and Hospitality, Mines, Energy, Lands, Agriculture and Rural Settlement, Industry and Commerce, Finance and Economic Development, and Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
