As we return to the skies, we appreciate that flying is going to feel a little different until we all get used to the new norms and procedures. We take pride in knowing that everything we do at fastjet is about your safety and wellbeing. This will always remain our top priority. Our teams have been working hard to introduce a range of measures to help keep you safe and allow you to fly with confidence.
We share important information about what you can expect as part of your travel experience with fastjet. Please familiarise yourselves with these.
Three very important points to take note of:
1. Do not travel or go to the airport if you have any COVID-19 symptoms.
2. Face masks must be worn from the moment you arrive at the airport and throughout the whole flight.
3. You may be required to bring with you some medical forms and documents. Failure to do so will result in not being able to fly with us. Click here for further information.
We look forward to welcoming you onboard.
Your destination may require you to complete, in advance of your travel date, specific forms (health certificate, health declaration and/or locator forms) which may be required for presentation on entering an airport terminal, at check-in, boarding or on arrival.
Please note it is your responsibility to consult the latest government requirements for your chosen destination, ensuring that you follow their advice and bring any completed forms and documents with you as required.

Getting Ready To Fly Safely
Do not travel or go to the airport if you have COVID-19 symptoms. If you are feeling unwell before you travel, seek medical advice. Remember to have with you any forms or COVID-19 test certificates required for your journey. Click here for COVID-19 information.
Remember to wear a suitable face covering or mask throughout your journey. Anyone refusing to wear a suitable face covering will not be allowed into the airport terminal or board the aircraft (unless you are exempt for medical reasons, for which you must produce evidence). Masks should typically be replaced every four hours or if they become damp or contaminated, so please ensure that you, and those you are travelling with, have an adequate supply for the entire duration of your trip.
Throughout your journey, remember the importance of maintaining physical distancing requirements, of at least 1.5 m.
Keep washing your hands with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitiser available at key touchpoints, across the airport building and in the aircraft lavatory. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. If you need to cough or sneeze, cover your nose or mouth with a flexed elbow or tissue.
Our Team & Facilities
With all face to face engagements, our team will wear the appropriate personal protection wear, to reduce the spread of the virus and to ensure everyone’s wellbeing. We ask that you do the same and follow all printed guidance and requests from our staff.
Our fastjet shops, sales offices and airport are sanitised at regular intervals throughout the day, and hand sanitisation facilities are available for your use.
We encourage you to make use of our non-contact customer service channels, which include online chat through WhatsApp & Facebook Messenger. Booking through our website offers a guarantee of the lowest fares. Keep yourself updated. Click here to subscribe to the latest updates and marketing news.
Please allow additional time for check-in, safety procedures and protocols that may apply at the airport. We suggest you arrive at the airport two (2) hours before your domestic flight.
Before flying you will undergo a temperature check and be asked to confirm you do not have any COVID-19 symptoms. Customers displaying any symptoms will be referred to the relevant health personnel at the airport and may not be permitted to fly.
Remember that in addition to any COVID-19 specific and health documentation (explained above) you are still required to present your identity documents, including the credit or debit card used for payment if applicable.
Whilst queuing and going through airport checkpoints always remember to observe social distancing. Please respect all physical distancing conditions applicable and prescribed by the airport authorities. We have temporarily suspended access to lounge services at designated airports. This will be reinstated at a later date.
Boarding Gates & Buses
Our boarding gates will close thirty (30) minutes before the scheduled departure of your flight. Late arrival at the boarding gate will result in denied boarding with no refund due. Have your boarding pass and travel identification documents handy so that when called for boarding you do not hold up your fellow passengers. You may be asked to scan your own boarding pass and to display your identification documents. Remember physical distancing during the bus transfer process to the aircraft, if required only, will be expected.
On arrival at the aircraft, follow the instructions of the fastjet representative and that of our ground handling agents as we arrange an orderly boarding process.
Your allocated seat will reflect on your boarding pass. When our staff request you to commence boarding, please be as quick as possible and go straight to your seat. Our boarding system is designed to minimise contact and exposure with fellow passengers.
Cleaning & Waste
Before every flight the aircraft is cleaned and disinfected. We also sanitise frequently used surfaces such as tray tables, armrests, overhead lockers and the lavatory facilities after every flight. Our lavatories are sanitised before and during your flight.
We clear all waste items, ensuring that we safely remove and place all waste into biohazard receptacles for safe disposal according to prescribed World Health Standards.
During the flight you may only move around the aircraft if you are making use of the lavatory. Passengers are not permitted to queue for the lavatory. If you require any assistance, then press the crew call button.
For the time being all inflight services are suspended. Customers will be provided with a bottle of water and some wellbeing items for use during the flight.
To maintain physical distancing when leaving the aircraft, you will be asked to disembark by row. You must follow instructions provided by the crew and not stand up until you are advised to do so.
Any required Immigration Forms or Health Questionnaires must be completed inflight ready to hand over upon arrival.
We know how important it is for our customers to have peace of mind and flexibility. As part of our service focus, our Flexible Booking Change Policy is our commitment to you, our valued customer, offering the option of unlimited changes with no additional costs or fees.
