Harare: Low-cost airline fastjet achieved an impressive 93% on time performance record in Zimbabwe during February; this follows an already solid performance in January when the airline’s flights registered a 91% on time record. In all the countries where fastjet is present, the airline matched its Zimbabwean timekeeping with a 94% aggregate network punctuality. Fastjet operated more than 900 flights in February.
“Reliability is one of the cornerstones of customer service for any airline,” says fastjet Zimbabwe spokesperson Faith Chaitezvi. “fastjet’s pursuit of constant and never-ending improvement across every aspect of our business ultimately comes together under one single minded objective; to deliver affordable and dependable air travel to our clients.” Since launching fastjet Zimbabwe just over two years ago, the airline has substantially its frequencies between Harare and Johannesburg, increased flights between Harare and Victoria Falls and actively promoted inbound tourism on its Johannesburg to Victoria Falls route. Flights to Dar es Salaam connects Zimbabwe with a key regional port.
Chaitezvi says that the carrier is presently working on initiatives to enrich both customers’ travel experience as well as value added services. “Our new Customer Experience team is busy interrogating every part of the consumer journey; this will enable us to deliver better, more efficient service, helping us to realise our pursuit of dependability.” Fastjet has already introduced fare options with BigSaver, its simple and affordable, no-frills product and Achiever that includes a checked bag as well as one penalty-free date or route change. “Fastjet is the airline for everyone in Zimbabwe, and we are committed to affordable, accessible and reliable air travel.”
