Want to know what happens if you don't have the correct travel document or what to do if you have lost your flight reference number? Read on.
Yes, when travelling domestically or internationally we do require all passengers to produce proof of identification. Fastjet accepts your Government issued identity card/book card, passport or driver’s licence as proof of identity. When travelling internationally fastjet requires that customers present a valid passport and all other travel documentation prescribed by the destination country. Failure to meet these expectations will result in denied travel by fastjet or the authorities.
For specific travel requirements for children travelling to and from South Africa visit the South African Home Affairs website for the most up to date information.
If you arrive at the check-in counters without the required documentation you will not be accepted for travel with us, and as a result you will miss your flight. If this happens the cost of your flight is non-refundable. This is in accordance with the Terms & Condition of Carriage. This is why it is important that you are familiar with our terms and conditions, rules and requirements. In particular the timings for the closure of our check desks and boarding gates. Please do not be late for our flights.
fastjet does not delay flights due to late passenger arrivals. As a result, if you are late for your flight you will not be allowed to board, and you will forfeit the cost of your ticket. To avoid this happening, make sure that you arrive at the check-in desks no later than 40 minutes prior to the departure of your flight and at the boarding gates no later than 30 minutes prior to your flight departing.
Contact us via email with your full name and date of travel, and you will be given your flight reference number prior to your departure. Alternatively, you can contact our Call Centre for assistance.
Fastjet offers a complimentary light snack and beverage on all flights.
