Airports are hubs of activity, bustling with people trying to get from point A to B. Before you know it, you have easily walked a couple of kilometres. Travelling with a plaster cast
If you are travelling with a plaster cast that has been applied within 48 hours of your flight, fastjet requires a Fitness to Fly certificate from your doctor or medical practitioner (signed and dated).
You will also need to arrange pre-approval from our Assistance Team and fill in our Medical Indemnity form.
The plaster cast must also be split open to ensure maximum comfort on board. Casts should be loosely fitted to allow for expansion and swelling at high altitudes.

Did your break require surgery or were there complications?
We require that you complete the fastjet medical information form. This can be acquired from our Assistance Team.
Must you purchase extra seats?
If you have a broken arm or if your lower leg is in plaster (below the knee) you need to book one additional seat to travel.
Adults with a lower limb in a cast (full leg or cast extends beyond the knee), will not be able to travel with fastjet due to aircraft seating configuration.
If you are a child travelling with a lower limb in a cast, you may need to buy up to two seats in a row to ensure maximum comfort.
Travelling with a pneumatic splint
You can travel with a pneumatic splint provided that you partially deflate it prior to your flight. This is to ensure maximum comfort and reduce swelling.
