Your health is important to us. It’s why we ask diabetics to carry your life-saving insulin in your hand baggage. Here’s what else you need to know.
If you have diabetes and require injections during flight, you will either have to self-administer the injections or arrange for a travel companion to administer on your behalf.
We do request that you advise the cabin crew of your condition when boarding the aircraft.
Diabetic insulin pens are permitted for travel without medical documentation.
Please ensure that you carry supplies of insulin in your hand baggage for easy access. Insulin may be inactivated if carried in the hold due to freezing temperatures. If you are taking insulin or long acting sulphonylureas you are advised to take extra carbohydrates in your hand baggage and remain on home-time throughout the flight.
