Your continued good health is our priority. If you need to travel with needles, here’s what you need to know.

You are allowed to bring needles and syringes (including insulin pens and epipens) on board for the treatment of a medical condition.

Processes to be followed

  • You must carry a letter from your doctor or medical practitioner confirming the type of medication and what it is for.
  • You must declare the needles at the check-in counter, security and to the cabin crew member when boarding the aircraft. Airport security screening is out of our control, and we cannot be held responsible in the unlikely event that the security authorities do not allow your equipment to be carried in cabin baggage.

On-board assistance

Please note that our staff is unable to administer any medication, including injections, under any circumstances. Inform the cabin crew if you need to use your needles so that they can provide a box for safe disposal.
