The flights will operate thrice weekly between the two cities, on a Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, departing from Johannesburg OR Tambo International at 11:10 arriving in Victoria Falls at 12:50. The return flight will depart Victoria Falls at 13:20 arriving at 14:55 at OR Tambo International Airport. Flights will be operated on the company’s fifty-seater Embraer ERJ145 aircraft.
A fastjet spokesperson shared, “ We are pleased to introduce the convenience of a direct flight service between the two cities, a visit to Victoria Falls offers visitors to Zimbabwe the tranquil opportunity and escape into the wonders of nature which does not come much more spectacular than Victoria Falls”.

With the ongoing travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, fastjet has extended their Flexible Booking Change policy until the 15th of March 2021, offering customers the added confidence when choosing to fly on any route across the airline’s network.
A fastjet official stated, “We understand that as traveller confidence recovers, some customers may not be ready to decide upon their next trip, or may be holding bookings they have not been able to realise yet due to the existing restrictions. In support of our customers, we have extended the flexible booking policy to both existing and new bookings, for travel up to and including the 15 March 2021”.
Fastjet customers holding unused bookings or those who would like to book for a future travel date, up to and including the 15 March 2021 are eligible to take advantage of unlimited changes with no fees to pay, and no fare differences applied.

HARARE, ZIMBABWE |Fastjet Zimbabwe today announced, the airline’s submission to operate a mission specific charter flight in support of the repatriation needs of both Zimbabwean and South African Nationals, for travel between Harare & Johannesburg and vice versa, on Friday 29 May 2020 has met with final approvals from the relevant authorities in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
This first repatriation flight arrangement is wholly intended for Nationals and permanent residents of both countries presently stranded who are returning home. This arrangement is a demonstration of the excellent cooperation and relations between the Republic of Zimbabwe and the Republic of South Africa.
The airline acknowledges and expresses gratitude to the respective ministries and delegations’, the Aviation Authorities of Zimbabwe and South Africa, and staff of both countries for the collaboration and unwavering support demonstrated and provided to the airline.
Fastjet Zimbabwe Accountable Manager, Mr. Ed Berry, stated, “All repatriation flight arrangements are in full compliance with the lockdown regulations for Zimbabwe and South Africa and are coordinated with the relevant authorities and our service partners with full adherence to the prescribed industry and regulator safety standards introduced for COVID19. Over the last few weeks, we have had many customers reach out to us asking for our assistance in helping them return home, and we are pleased that this is now becoming a reality”.
The flights scheduled to operate this Friday, 29 May are fully subscribed to, however, fastjet Zimbabwe is continuing discussions with the relevant regulators and authorities for additional repatriation flight arrangements between Zimbabwe & South Africa and vice versa for the week commencing 07 June 2020. Pending the required approvals, customers may register their interest for these flights by submitting an email to [email protected].
In the meantime, the airline’s scheduled network operation remains highly dependent on the lockdown travel restrictions and opening of borders in this context. Harare, Zimbabwe: Fastjet Zimbabwe introduces two new direct routes to its expanding network.
The airline’s network will now include a new international schedule from Victoria Falls to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA), Nelspruit, South Africa and a return direct domestic flight from Bulawayo to Victoria Falls.
Effective Monday 06 July 2020, the new route schedules, will increase the total weekly flights operated by the airline to 138 flights across the network.
The Victoria Falls to Kruger Mpumalanga flights are available for sale from Wednesday, 29 January 2020. The Bulawayo to Victoria Falls flights will be available for sale from Monday, 03 February 2020.
