A day of reflection
Each year on the 9th of August, South Africans celebrate National Women’s Day. The day commemorates a monumental event that occurred in Pretoria in 1956.
Waiting to welcome travellers at fastjet check-in counter, Mosa Mbalati a fastjet Customer Experience Supervisor at OR Tambo International spoke passionately about National Women’s Day. “It’s more than a day of reflection, it’s an annual tribute to the brave women who opened the doors for us”. “Today I work at Africa’s busiest airport because of the doors opened in 1956, she concluded”.
“I take great pride in being one of the women driving fastjet’s success as an award-winning airline of choice. Today, Fastjet operates regular flights between South Africa and Zimbabwe,” she proudly remarked. Fastjet employs women of different backgrounds, cultures, races and religions. On several occasions, the airline has operated all-female crews from Johannesburg to Harare, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls. “I am filled with pride when I dispatch an all-female operated flight, from the Captain, First Officer and Cabin Crew. All was made possible by the events of the 9th of August 1956.”
Mosa is one of fastjet’s brand ambassadors, dedicated to upholding the airline’s high customer service standards. “As women, we take pride in our appearance, and this is reflected in my uniform and my smile. It boosts my confidence as I engage with our customers, delivering the personal experience and exceptional service that Fastjet is known for.” Shared Mosa.
